How to use
Salicylic Acid Peels

Directions

1. Thoroughly cleanse all areas that are to be treated with a cleanser. Rinse the cleanser with clean warm water and gently pat dry.

2. Apply toner to remove all traces of the cleanser and let dry, do not rinse.

3. Get a timer and set it for desired peel time (see chart below).

4. Very quickly, apply a small amount of peel solution with a brush, cotton ball or gauze pad to the area cleansed and toned. Leave on for recommended amount of time.

5. When time is up use lukewarm-cool water to rinse product from skin and pat dry. Make sure no trace of acid is left on your skin.

6. Apply moisturizer to treated areas. Depending on your degree of irritation, wait 1-2 days after the peel has been performed to reinitiate Retin-A, glycolic and topical bleaching creams.

7. This product may make your skin more sensitive to the sun. The FDA recommends that a sunscreen of SPF of at least 15, preferably SPF 30 or higher, be applied daily when using exfoliating products

**If you are allergic to aspirin (which is similar to salicylic acid), you should not undergo a salicylic acid peel. If you are not sure whether or not you are allergic, your physician should test a small area of your inner, upper arm prior to applying a full-face peel.

Precautions

Keep the solution at least a quarter of an inch away from the eyes, lips and mucus membranes. The cheek, lip and nose areas are the most sensitive, so they should be done last to avoid excess irritation. Your skin does not need to be dripping wet, just apply the solution like you would any toner.

  • If skin irritation occurs, remove the product by rinsing with cool water immediately and consult a physician.
  • Do not use a peel product if you have been or are using accutane in the past 6 months.
  • Do not apply to irritated sensitive or skin with open wounds or after extraction.
  • Do not apply the peel product more than once in a 7-day period.
  • Do not expose your face to the sun for 24 hours before or after the application of the peel.
  • Do not apply the peel product to skin that has been waxed or shaved within 24 hours.
  • When using the peel product a stinging sensation may occur, this is normal.
  • If the product is applied to an area where dermabrasions or small cuts on the skin produce too much discomfort neutralize the exfoliator by rinsing with cool water.
  • Slight reddening of the skin may occur for a limited period of time especially with sensitive skin types.
